Sorry for not updating in awhile. March has, up to this point, sucked. Vancoufur was a bit of a letdown. I didn't make very many sales, and honestly, I didn't really have a good time at con. The setup wasn't great, the venue was terrible, and there wasn't many people. They say they hit 1000 attendees, but there's no way that's accurate. I was in the main hallway the entire weekend. I saw how few people actually wandered through. And given how many problems they had with registration and how many duplicate entries there were, those numbers are totally inflated. My husband was on of the people that had to pay twice
because their system couldn't find his records. Con wasn't all bad though, I did meet a lot of really nice artists, shared and learned a lot of information. As a learning experience it was good. It was also nice to get out of the snow for a few days, and we had a fun night hanging out with a good friend.
March has been rough as hell for the family. Bunch of other bullshit with vehicles happened, but most importantly... last Monday, I was up in the city for an appointment. Two hours after we got home, our beloved Rom passed away. On his 14th birthday too. At least it was quick, and he was with family. I miss him everyday. This is one of my favorite pics of Rom, jumping for cookies he loved so much. Even in his last days, he could barely see or hear, but he could still smell, and would still try and jump for a cookie. He was the best boy. He left a huge hole on our hearts...
...As for getting back into artwork... I will. I have a few commissions from con to do, but I'm going at it slowly. I'm pretty burned out right now. Probably going to be sporadic on social media for awhile. Need a break to regain my energy. ...plus my art room is utter chaos so I need a few days to clean and organize it, heh.
